The boy wonder had a performance uploaded in Youtube and was spotted by Scooter Braun who later became his manager. Bieber got signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then entered into a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid.
His first single, “One Time” debuted within the top 30 in over 1o countries, and was followed up by “My World” which was certified platinum in the United States, giving Bieber the highest debut by a new artist in the year, and making him the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
